Live events, not recordings
Every event on The Society Atlas takes place live at the time shown. It is not a pre-recorded video or an uploaded performance. The creator is present in the moment and may address each gathered room — a welcome by name, a request, an answer — within the viewing and messaging arrangements they set up. The Society Atlas does not host the stream itself; creators arrange their own live broadcast.
Cancellation by host
Hosts may cancel a pending or approved request at no charge before payment. After payment, cancellation more than 14 days before the event may qualify for a refund of the listed price; the service fee may be non-refundable. Final terms to be confirmed.
Cancellation by creator
Creators or administrators can record cancellation before the event starts. This permanently closes requests, checkout and host package access, and records cancellation separately from ratings. If a creator cancels, hosts should receive a full refund including the service fee, but refunds are not automated or live. Final terms to be confirmed.
Verified host reviews
Only paid hosts can submit one review per booking, after the scheduled event end, or 24 hours after the start if no end is supplied. Ratings are from 1 to 5. Cancelled events are tracked separately and cannot be reviewed as completed events. Demo reviews are clearly labelled and excluded from real ratings.
Refunds
Refunds are reviewed case by case and processed back to the original card through our payment provider. If a creator cancels, hosts receive a full refund including the service fee. Final terms to be confirmed.
Rights & licensing
Creators confirm they hold rights for satellite streaming, exhibition or performance. Hosts are responsible for local public performance licences (e.g. music or film licensing bodies) where required. Film and music public exhibition rights must be confirmed per event.
Streaming & redistribution
Today the access page is gated to approved, paid hosts, but any plain stream link can be copied and shared. A paywall alone does not prevent redistribution. Exclusive viewing will require a third-party provider with tokenised, time-limited, per-host access. DRM is not active.
Payments & payouts
Hosts pay by secure card checkout: the listed price plus a 15% platform service fee. Creators retain 100% of the listed price. Creator payouts are transferred separately while automated marketplace payouts are being connected. Questions: thesocietyatlas@gmail.com.
